'''Mirian II''' (3rd century, AD) was the first
Georgian king of
Iberia (
Kartli) in
265-
342.
During one of the internecine quarrels, which were not infrequent in
Georgia, the throne fell to Mirhan or Mirian, a son of the
Persian king, who had married a daughter of Asphagor, the last sovereign of the
Arsacid dynasty. With Mirian began the
Sassanian dynasty of
Iberia. He and his subjects were converted to
Christianity by
Saint Nino.
